ALICE IN SAKARTVELO
Director: Nicholas Sherlock
A documentary that exposes the untold effect of the Russo-Ukrainian War on life in Georgia (Country - Sakartvelo).
Crafting a film that distils the Georgian condition in a way that inspires Western audiences' comprehension of Russia's persistent imperialism, and life for Georgians under the constant threat of invasion.

EATING THE FUTURE
Director: Katy Jenkyns
Bafta-winner Mia McKenna-Bruce voices an eco-investigator who is traumatised by her work accessing factory farms and documenting animal abuses undercover. Terrified of a future of climate apocalypse, she embarks on a journey into the food systems that shape our planet, to look for hope.

HOW THE WORLD IS GOING TO END

A short documentary film captures the public's fleeting feelings about the world's future and potential ending. Capturing the beauty and fragility of the planet on 16 mm film, allows to navigate in an uncertain world seen through the eyes of people living in all corners of the UK. Whispers of global warming, shadows of greed, and echos of wars—we listen to the pulse of humanity for answers. Where are we headed? Who shapes our fate? Is the end near? In the silence of uncertainty, we ponder: is there an answer, or do we find solace in this mystery?

MORE THAN MILK
Director: Abigail Rain Knight
This short documentary delves into the transformative power of The Cow Project, as told through the voices of the women experiencing poverty, malnutrition, and inequality in India.

RESCUE THE ROOTS
Director: Owen Seabrook
One in four grassroots music projects are at risk of closure. These projects - community music studios, local music lessons, etc - play a crucial role in equalising access to music for young people. Because music should be for everyone, not just for the privileged. Not only that, these services fill an important gap for young people in underserved communities, providing safety, guidance and crucial support. Rescue the Roots follows the experiences of three young people across England whose lives have been tremendously impacted by their local grassroots music project, not only in engagement in music but as a pillar of support for mental health issues, chronic illness and loneliness in a new country.

SCULPTING WITH FIRE
Director: Oluwatemilorun Enemuwe
The documentary film, “Sculpting with Fire” captures the artistic process of Bethany Wood and Elliot Walker, joint collaborators working at their self-owned glass-blowing workshop and gallery, “Blowfish Glass Art” located inside the UNESCO heritage site building Red House Glass Cone in Stourbridge, Dudley.

WATER WAYS
Director: Maddy Dodd
A film about mental health recovery through surfing. Ashley Braunton is a 3rd generation surfer from Saunton in North Devon ranked 4th in the country for longboard. In this short documentary he talks about his struggle with mental health and how he used surfing, the community and his family as a way to get back on his feet. Also proving the close communities of England are all we need to feel at home.
